With about five posts remaining, we wanted to share this little love letter to the road with you. After a sojourn in New York and Boston, our family has finally touched down back in Los Angeles after more than 365 days away from home. Now the re-acclimation process begins (wish us luck!). As Old Blue Eyes says “It’s Nice To Go Travelin'” — and we four veterans of the road couldn’t agree with him more.
Oh that’s bloody brilliant!
You guys look veeerrry happy!
Absolutely love this. It’s nice to be home, but it’s probably even nicer to go travelin’.
Welcome back to America. Sad you’re finishing your journey — but what a year!
We’ve heard about you from our friend Judy and we’ve watched every video and loved them. Please keep posting. We want to know what the homnecoming is like too. And when’s your next trip?
Love this. Love it all. Sorry we missed you in NYC. See you in LA.
well, i cried, of course. and, am i the only one to notice that “home” appears to be my beloved new york city?
welcome back.
What a perfect song! All the music has been incredible. Can you share some of the titles with us?
Truly truly fabulous !!!!!
Welcome Home!
My favorite! Please tell me you’re not going to stop posting … Or get back out on the road …
Since we met you in Goreme, Turkey, we have followed your adventure and enjoyed every minute of it. Yesterday we returned from a couple of weeks in the Macon area of France and this posting (and Ol’ Blue Eyes) welcomed us home. Thank you for a wonderful year, for a most enjoyable blog, and for keeping our traveling fires stoked with your incredible adventure. As Red Skelton always ended his show, God bless!
Today is Aug 31, and I just saw this video…brilliant editing with such a great song. I agree with Rachel’s comment..don’t stop posting..or go back on the road
Wonderful video as always, but it’s bittersweet since I felt I was traveling with you to so many wonderful places through the videos this year. I’ll miss them!!
Welcome home, it was great to see you!
This song fits so perfectly as a capstone with the video as edited that there just doesn’t seem to be anything to add. When the movie in final/finished form is edited and released this needs to be the ending! Spectacular selection of Sinatra with the great orchestra arranged and conducted by Billy May. Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Husen couldn’t have foreseen this match to what they were writing at the time, but they have to be up there somewhere smiling down on this place where their song so fittingly alights.
Hi!
I was so excited to find your blog. We are a family from Northern California who also returned from a year away traveling around the world with our two boys in July 2013. How has the transition been for you? How did the journey change you? I wish I had found your blog while traveling last year. It is so fun to share adventures and learn from what others are doing. What’s your next adventure?
Would love to connect!
Gigi
